The Word! 001

So I pretty much can’t stand watching the news today.  Everything is screaming at me that I am screwed, gonna be screwed or have previously been screwed.  All of which is most likely true.  It seems to me that all this negative output by the NewsMedia is some sham to get me into this scared/paranoid state of mind all the time.  So presently I don’t watch any version of T.V. news.  I get all my info from the internet, which has it’s own messages of screwing me, but at least i can find out more than what I am being shown by  some company.

I’ve always thought I could make a news show with material that is interesting and pertinent if not attention grabbing.  I read stories on the internet all day long that I think to myself, “why isn’t this in the news.”  Because of all this I compiled here a small group of stories that are interesting to me and placed here for you to lurk over.  I stayed away from politics/religion/other controversial stuff so you can’t dislike anything I say here. These stories probably won’t change your life or make you a better person, but I think you’ll enjoy them as much as I do.

So today I give to you the question of The Chicken v. The Egg, musical not so billionaires, Nicolas Cage material you may actually think is funny, a really old rock that’s worth more than your house, (read this next one through the voice of the dog from the Beggin Strips commercials) IT’S BACON!!!! and a cool Star Wars facts infographic (I love infographics, it’s like 1st grade picture books with whatever info you can find and put in a cool picture based random info article).  Fun times to be had by all!

ALL THE TITLES ARE LINKS TO THE ACTUAL STORIES.

Chicken or the Egg – CHICKEN!!!

So apparently this really smart dude with some of his other really smart buddies have finally solved the age old mystery of who came first. The discovery of Ovocledidin-17 (OC-17), a protein found only in chickens, is necessary for development of eggs. Thus, the chicken must’ve been here first. Science rocks!!!!!!

“So you wanna be a billionaire so freakin’ bad” well dont become a musician.

So I don’t think this is the newest of info around the internet but the pie chart just seems to make it more relevant to me.  Give me visuals and I respond, or at least acknowledge, right?  There’s lots of good info in the article on who is a part of making albums and who is getting paid for what they do.  Also click on the band $$$ calculator, and see how much money you could make in a band.

Nicolas Cage makes something thats actually funny,  it’s not his newest movie though.

Oldest document ever found in Jerusalem dates to 14th century B.C.E.

From the era of King Solomon, this document is compared to the earliest Egyptian hieroglyphics found and is guessed at being of royal heritage.  Maybe it was a decree passed from King to King, maybe a set of laws or rules scholars can’t be certain but make this guesstimate: “The words the symbols form are not significant in themselves, but what is significant is that the script is of a very high level, testifying to the fact that it was written by a highly skilled scribe that in all likelihood prepared tablets for the royal household of the time”

I love 1) bacon, 2) more bacon, 3) and more bacon

Now I love bacon just as much as the next guy; but some people get a little baconasty with their love for this pigs part.  Then again as the old saying goes, “if it sucks just add bacon and BAM, it doesn’t suck.”  Ok I made that up but it’s pretty close to the truth.  (out of the 4 above bacon links which one do you think is the best use of bacon?  I would say the bra but it’s raw so I can’t eat it, therefore I vote the spread)

How can you go wrong with a fun Star Wars fact infographic, …you can’t. <<Click for large image
